The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) held it’s inaugural UAV Industry Day on April 11, 2016.
This event, very well organized by the university’s UOIT UAV Union, brought UAV operators, Transport Canada, Unmanned Systems Canada as well as Technology vendors together to allow students to get a first hand look at the UAV Industry.
Drew and Mike both attended the event and unveiled our new booth and signage.
Pictures from the Day
It was a great opportunity to meet some key figures from around the Industry, Mark Aurja from Unmanned Systems Canada was there as was Mark Dixon from Transport Canada Ontario Region and Duncan Campbell from Nav Can and we had a chance to chat with all three.
Also a great time to meet others working in the UAV space to explore opportunities to work together or help each other with SFOC or Flight advice. We had an opportunity to meet one of the folks that we’ve chatted with on Facebook, Darren Clarke of Hummingbird Aerial Productions.
DJI was there as well with their DJI flight experience, giving attendees a chance to grab some sticks and fly some Phantoms.
It was a fun and useful day and ckmmphoto will certainly be back next year.
