Are you a Tourist looking to fly your Drone in Canada? Read this!

Take note if you are planning to visit Canada and fly your drone here in 2020…

Transport Canada has recently announced that tourists looking to fly their drone in Canada as part of their holiday visits this year can no longer do so. Previously, tourists who were interested in taking vacation shots or videos with their drone would have to apply for an Special Flight Operation Certificates to get permission from Transport Canada to fly. Now, that option is temporarily no longer available.

This will be revisited in January 2021.

Transport notes on their website…

Please note, we are currently not accepting SFOC applications from visitors to Canada looking to fly recreationally. This change does not affect foreigners requesting a SFOC for commercial purposes. This temporary restriction will be re-evaluated in January 2021. We apologize for any inconvenience.
