{"id":1524,"date":"2020-01-03T14:06:04","date_gmt":"2020-01-03T19:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ckmmphotographic.ca\/wordpress\/drone-for-the-holidays-small-rpas-or-drones-are-becoming-more-and\/"},"modified":"2020-01-08T11:42:55","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T16:42:55","slug":"drone-for-the-holidays-small-rpas-or-drones-are-becoming-more-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ckmmphotographic.ca\/wordpress\/drone-for-the-holidays-small-rpas-or-drones-are-becoming-more-and\/","title":{"rendered":"Drone for The Holidays?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Drone for The Holidays!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Small RPAS or Drones are becoming more and more popular as gifts during the holidays and throughout the year!<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not surprising as they can be a lot of fun&#8230;\u2028\u2028What\u2019s new this year is that most drones sold at Christmas fall under the new RPAS regulations introduced in June this year by Transport Canada.\u2028\u2028We&#8217;re sure that all of our readers will join with USC-STC in our quest of safe drone operations in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>It helps our professional operators get their jobs done, and helps keep the manned and unmanned aviation sectors working safely together!<\/p>\n<p>If a family member or someone you know has received a new drone overthe Holidays, here are some tips to pass along:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If it weighs 250 grams or bigger, the drone needs to be registered with Transport Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Anyone operating a 250g or larger drone for either recreational or commercial usage, in most cases, they will need at least a Basic Pilot Certificate issued by Transport Canada after taking an on-line exam.<\/li>\n<li>Some locations, near airports and helipads are out of bounds and you need special permission from NavCan to operate your drone around there.<\/li>\n<li>If going on vacation, check the rules for the vacation spot you&#8217;re visiting to see if you can bring your drone along.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re new to all of this, it&#8217;s always a good idea to get training from a TC recognized Training School to learn the basics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By following a few simple rules, everyone can enjoy their new drones and fly safely!<\/p>\n<p>You can get more information at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drone Site Tool &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/nrc.canada.ca\/en\/drone-tool\/\">https:\/\/nrc.canada.ca\/en\/drone-tool\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Transport Canada Drone Safety &#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tc.gc.ca\/en\/services\/aviation\/drone-safety.html\">https:\/\/www.tc.gc.ca\/en\/services\/aviation\/drone-safety.html<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Drone for The Holidays!
